A new template type: SharePoint Site Templates
The nBold Home page now lists SharePoint sites you belong to
Ability to clone a full SharePoint site (libraries, lists, pages, navigation)
Access to the same governance policies already available for Teams templates
How SharePoint Site Templates work
1. Home page now includes SharePoint sites
The nBold Home page has been extended to display all SharePoint sites the user has access to, in addition to Microsoft Teams.
This allows you to:
Browse existing SharePoint sites
Use them as source sites for templates
Apply governance and automation at scale
2. Choose the template type
When creating a new template,
you now choose between:
Microsoft Teams – classic Teams-based templates
SharePoint – SharePoint-only templates
Select SharePoint to create a template based purely on a SharePoint site.
3. Select the source SharePoint site
Choose the existing SharePoint site that will serve as the source for your template.
This source site defines:
Site structure
Libraries and lists
Pages and navigation
Metadata, views, and content
4. Define basic template information
Provide the essential information for your SharePoint template:
Template name – displayed in the nBold catalog
Description – explains the use case to end users
Language – default language for the template
5. Configure Governance Policies
nBold supports advanced SharePoint site cloning and Governance Policies
SharePoint Site Templates support the same governance framework as Microsoft Teams templates.
From the template configuration, you can define:
Compliance and sensitivity labels
📌 Each policy works the same way as for Teams templates and is now applicable to SharePoint-only sites.
Things to know
SharePoint Site Templates do not create Microsoft Teams
Teams-specific features (channels, tabs, Planner, etc.) do not apply
Permissions and visibility depend on SharePoint and Microsoft 365 settings
As a Beta feature, some advanced SharePoint capabilities may evolve
🧪 The SharePoint Site Templates feature is currently available in Beta. We invite you to test the provisioning based on the specific site you want to clone. While the nBold team had thoroughly tested in the last few weeks, our experience shows that with Microsoft 365 and SharePoint variety of options & config we might come across new potential provisioning issues.
If you have feedback or specific SharePoint scenarios to cover, feel free to reach out to the nBold team.
